ACT Government Land Rent Scheme Loans

ACT Government Land Rent Scheme Loans

A desire to provide affordable housing for all Australians has driven leading credit union, Community CPS Australia to partner with the Australian Capital Territory Government in delivering the country’s first Land Rent Scheme in ACT.

The Scheme, a key recommendation of the Government’s April 2007 Affordable Housing Action Plan, will assist low income earners in achieving their dream of home ownership by offering home loans for houses built on land rented from the Government.

We have partnered with the ACT Government to offer finance to approved applicants for the construction of homes on land rent blocks.

As a mutually owned credit union, we are committed to serving the ACT community by assisting them to recapture their dreams of home ownership.

Application Process

  1. If you are interested in the Scheme, you firstly need to attend a free Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) information session, which is compulsory if you want to access the Scheme. For information on the CIT session dates, and to make a booking, please contact the CIT on (02) 6207 3188 or by email: infoline@cit.act.edu.au
  2. You will then have to provide relevant income details (tax return and any other documentation) together with an application form to the ACT Revenue Office, which is available on their website.
  3. Once approved, you may apply to Community CPS for a loan by calling 13 25 85.

For further information on the Scheme, please email land.rent@act.gov.au or call Canberra Connect on 13 22 81 or visit www.actaffordablehousing.com.au.
